Muck Outscape Max Lace Up Hiker Boot
In high school, I started hearing about the reliability of Muck knee boots. I saw countless pairs of these boots stuffed upside down in between the cabs and beds of trucks all over my hometown. I was pumped when I bought my first pair from Cabelas and they served me well for years.
Muck is celebrating their 25th anniversary and the company has grown alongside their product offerings. I decided to try out a pair of their Outscape Max Lace Up Hiker Boots and wore them for several days straight after getting them in. I’m going to get out there and tell you sooner than later that I’ve worn these to church more than I’ve worn them in the outdoors. They have a good look about them, are lite weight, and are comfortable for a long wear.
These boots are 100% waterproof and windproof. They’ve become my go to on those raining days especially when the cold air howls. These boots perform well in the field, they are best suited for lighter duty treks or times you need water protection up to your ankle. One thing that surprised me is that even though these are a little warmer of a boot with their 3mm neoprene, my feet didn’t get too hot or sweat in milder temperatures.
These boots are comfortable and hug your foot with their memory foam footbed and are true to size. They have good traction and clean out well. They do not offer ankle support, I wouldn’t suggest wearing them while at a higher risk for a twisted ankle. The sole of the boot is surprisingly rigid and bends at the back part of the toe bed at your foot’s natural pivot point. I have a higher arch and I don’t feel full contact with the higher parts of my arch yet these are still comfortable.
If you’re looking for a waterproof casual hiking boot that you’d be comfortable wearing to church, these are worth checking out to see if they work for your needs. I have enjoyed wearing these and have gotten compliments on them. Whether you check them out or not, thanks for stopping by to read about them.
