It’s kind of funny but when people ask me about my favorite pieces of gear I have, all I have to do is pull out my keychain.  It comes as a shock to them and to me but one of my favorite things to show off is my Coast Products KL20R keychain flashlight because of the crazy light that comes from such a small housing.

Weighing in at only a half ounce according to my coffee scale and in a 2.4” frame, this light puts out 380 lumens with a 78M beam.  It has a battery life of 6hrs 30 min (on low/2 hrs on high) and has a rechargeable zithion battery (USB-C).  It is water and dust resistant and backed by Coast’s lifetime warranty.

I’m so impressed with this light that it has become my backup light just in case I run through my headlamp battery.  It’s much more impressive than those backup lights I used to pack for backcountry hunts that ran on watch batteries.

This light has a high, low, and turbo setting and is turned on by a double click of the power button to help limit accidentally turning it on.  This light is easily stored away anywhere and could even be used as a zipper pull as light weight as it is.  For $25, it’s hard to beat.
