Wisconsin Deer Hunter Hurt By Bear

Wisconsin officials released information regarding a man who was mauled by a bear near Superior, Wisconsin this past Saturday night. Superior is located in the northeast corner of the state near Duluth, Minnesota.

Local police received the call regarding the mauling. They stated that the man was with a female hunting partner who had set-up bait, hoping to take a deer, when the bear appeared. The man tried to chase away, but it turned on him. He was able to wound the bear with a knife and the woman shot it with an arrow, but the animal was still alive when police arrived. The officials were able to hunt down and kill the injured bear.

The man was taken to a Duluth, Minnesota hospital with injuries to his thigh and wrist.
