Bear Season Closed In NW Wyoming Areas

Wyoming Game & Fish Department, Bear Hunting Magazine

The 2011 Wyoming bear season that started September 1st is now closed in two areas in northwestern Wyoming. Hunters in these areas have taken four female bears in areas one and two in the northern end of the Bighorn Mountains.

Once this quota for sows is met in a hunting area, the land is off limits for further bear hunting until the spring season begins in 2012.

Wyoming bear hunters can check the daily status of bear hunting areas by calling (800) 264-1280.
