The Vermont Department of Fish and Wildlife says two Connecticut men are facing charges they used bait to hunt bear, which is illegal in that state.
Vermont game wardens located a large bait pile of apples and acorns in Jay, Vermont that was coated with an attractant. The two men were arrested after wardens began watching the bait pile when the two came to sit in a tree stand over the bait. A number of other bait piles were found near a camp the men were using.
If convicted, they could get sixty days in jail and lose their right to hunt in that state of Vermont for three years.
