Michigan To Sell Leftover Bear Tags

Michigan wildlife officials say leftover bear licenses will be available for purchase this month. Two bear hunts were undersubscribed, which resulted in 569 leftover licenses.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment will have the licenses availabled online or at any license agent on a first-come, first-served basis.

Holders of Lifetime Comprehensive Licenses may buy a leftover license starting at 10 a.m. July 12. Unsuccessful applicants may buy one starting at 10 a.m. July 19. Other hunters, including those who did not apply, may buy one starting at 10 a.m. July 26 if any are left at that time.
