Mother And Daughter Hurt By Bear In India

A mother and daughter were attacked by a Himalayan black bear in Alchona village. According to official sources, the incident took place on Sunday morning, when the 15-year-old girl was washing kitchen utensils in the courtyard of her house.

The bear hiding in a nearby bush attacked her and also injured her 32 year-old mother who attempted to save the girl. Both injured women were referred to Haldwani hospital where their condition is out of danger ADM Nainital Dhiraj Singh Garbiyal said.

Meanwhile, villagers have urged the local forest department to take immediate action on the matter.
