Officials say black bear activity has forced the closure of a Southern Arizona campground for two weeks.

Heidi Schewel with the Coronado National Forest said Reef Campground in the Huachuca Mountains will be temporarily closed to remove the human influence of items, like food and garbage, that may be tempting the bears to linger in the area.

Sierra Vista District Ranger, Annette Chavez said, "By closing the area for a short time, we can allow the bears to move on, and then resume our recreational activities."
