Biologists Kill Black Bear In Grand TetonGreat Falls, Bear Hunting Magazine
Biologists in Grand Teton National Park have killed a black bear that was showing bold behavior toward park visitors. The nine-year-old female flattened two tents at a campground in the Colter Bay area last week. No one was inside the tents, but park officials say that food had been left inside one of the tents.
Park officials say the bear had previously tried to get human food in the Colter Bay area as well as on Elk Island in Jackson Lake.
Rangers trapped and killed the bear on Monday. It was the first bear to be euthanized in Grand Teton this year. Park officials killed a record four problem-causing bears in the park last year.
