A Saskatchewan black bear and her four cubs are dead following an unfortunate set of events outside of Buffalo Narrows.

As hunters and outdoor enthusiasts, we know the problems that arise when wild animals, especially bears, are given food by humans. In the end, it is the bears who pay the price for what some consider, being nice to the animals.

According to the RCMP(Royal Canadian Mounted Police), the sow was in the habit of running up to the highway when she heard vehicles drive by. People in the vehicles would stop and feed her. But on June 14, she was killed when she ran out and was hit by a vehicle.

The four cubs were later put down under the authority of the Ministry of Environment for humane reasons, as they were too young to survive on their own.
