A black bear was hit by a car and killed on I-40 near Clemmons, North Carolina early Saturday morning. When officers found the bear, no vehicles were present.

NC Wildlife Officials responded and took custody of the bear. There had been multiple reports of bear in the area over the past few days. Officials are not able to confirm the deceased bear on I-40 is the same one seen in Winston-Salem over the last few days, however it was similar in size.
