Vermont Man Pleads No Contest To ChargesVermont FWD, Bear Hunting Magazine
A 43-year-old Barnet, Vermont man was ordered to make a movie about bears as part of a sentence for bear baiting and other violations last week. The man pled no contest to the charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and four fish and game violations.
The delinquency of a minor charge was due to the man encouraging a 13-year-old boy to shoot a bear from a treestand over bait while videotaping it. Baiting for bears is against the law in Vermont. The other convictions were for possessing big game, bear baiting and two youth deer weekend violations.
