Nevada Bear Hunting On HSUS Hit List

Bear Hunting Magazine

Nevada bear hunters may be in for a battle to continue using hounds. Opponents to the bear hunt have filed a petition banning the use of dogs. More detailed discussions will follow if the petition is accepted by the Nevada Wildlife Commission.

The HSUS is one of several groups involved in this petition and have the success of banning hounds for bear and bobcat in California on their side.

In the 2011 Nevada bear hunt, 85% of the successful hunts involved the use of dogs.
