Mississippi wildlife officials released information regarding a black bear sighted in the northeast part of the state. They believe it wandered out of Alabama in search of a new home.

Over the last week, the Prentiss County Sheriff's Department has taken a number of calls regarding this black bear. While bears are very rare in northeast Mississippi, officials believe more bears will be coming over from Alabama in the next few years looking for new territory to reside in.
