Oregon Hunter Injured By Bear

Oregon DFW / Jackson County Sheriff, Bear Hunting Magazine

The Jackson County sheriff's office released an incident report regarding an Oregon hunter who helped shoot a bear, but was wounded by the bruin in the process.

The bear, which was wounded after initially being shot, rolled down a fifty-foot embankment with the 22 year-old male, biting the man the entire way down. A second hunter, a 24-year-old man from Phoenix was able to shoot and kill the bear after the tumble. The hunters did have a tag that allowed them to shoot the bear legally.

The 22 year-old was rushed to a local hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
