The remains found Sunday were likely that of a 54 year-old man from Sitka, Alaska who was late returning from a boating trip. The remains found looked to be consumed by one or more brown bears on Chichagof, a southeast Alaska island, part of the ABC chain which include Admiralty, Baranof and Chichagof.
The man had left Sitka, which is located on Baranof island, in a skiff Thursday on his way to a forestry job site near Peril Strait, which is located between Chichagof and Baranof.
