In Juneau, Alaska this week, the local bears had a lot of attention on them. The first two black bears were struck and killed by cars. One was hit on North Douglas Highway on Douglas Island and the second on Glacier Highway near Industrial Blvd.
The third bear was attracting a crowd one night in downtown Juneau. Local police discussed their options with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Together they decided to not euthanize the bear. The police fired four bean bag rounds to chase the bear off.
