Colorado officials released a statement regarding a 50-year-old Colorado Springs man who is now recovering from non-life-threatening injuries after he was attacked by a black bear while camping near Lake San Cristobal in southwestern Colorado.

The man was camping when he awoke to something pushing on his tent around four in the morning Wednesday. The man pushed back and the bear reacted and came back at the tent. A bear thought to have been involved in the attack was euthanized the next day.
