Contrary to what the anti-hunters would have the public believe, there is more evidence of the increasing black bear population than ever!

West Virginia hunters harvested 3,012 black bears during the 2016 combined black bear hunting season across West Virginia, which is officially the 2nd highest harvest on record.

This figure is down just 6 percent statewide from the 2015 bear harvest of 3,195 but still only the second time the bear harvest has exceeded 3,000.
